In the state of Arkansas, medical marijuana dispensaries are popping up like weeds, and for those who want to find employment at them, there are some qualifications that will need to be met first. Many think certification is important, but is it?

Many of the organizations in the state are offering people training seminars as well as certifications for hopeful employees. HempStaff in Little Rock for example is offering a training seminar for $249.

According to Scott Hardin, who works with Arkansas’ Department of Finance and Administration, “We don’t know the legitimacy of these [organizations] at this time.”

“There’s some that probably are offering some good information; some that probably aren’t,” Hardin explained.

As far as qualifies go, Hardin said that the hiring decisions are up to the businesses. He thinks it’s too soon to say exactly what each dispensary will have as requirements.

“If anyone’s claiming that they have the answers, I would say just do your research,” Hardin said.
