Robert Brady, a Democratic representative from Pennsylvania, said in a recent interview that he wants to try marijuana even if the state doesn’t legalize it.

The Boston Globe has reported that Brady made the statement in an interview with Philadelphia inquirer reporter Claudia Vargas.

“He is curious about marijuana, which he says he has never smoked before but wants to try,” Vargas tweeted over the weekend. “Is it legal now, he asked? He’s planning to try it either way, he said,” she continued.

While the state legalized medicinal marijuana in 2016, recreational marijuana is not legal yet. Current Governor Tom Wolf has shown interest however in legislation.

“More and more states are successfully implementing marijuana legalization, and we need to keep learning from their efforts,” Wolf tweeted.

“Any change would take legislation. But I think it is time for Pennsylvania to take a serious and honest look at recreational marijuana.
