Utah is inching closer to potentially legalizing medical marijuana in the state.

Opponents who had a lawsuit against the state’s medical marijuana ballot initiative this November have dropped their lawsuit.

The lawsuit was aimed at preventing the question from being on the ballot for voters.

The Drug Safe Utah’s abandonment of the lawsuit this week has now cleared a path to having the initiative on the ballot this fall.

According to DJ Schanz, who’s a leader of the group pushing for the ballot initiative, has said the lawsuit was frivolous and said proponents were looking forward to Election Day.
