The state of Alaska saw its biggest monthly collection of marijuana taxes in January.

The state pulled in a little over $1 million for the month. According to the state Department of Revenue’s Kelly Mazzei, the month also tallied the higher number of operations that are paying the tax.

Alaska’s law allocates that half of the tax revenue goes towards programs to reduce repeat criminal offenders.

The state has a bill currently pending before the Senate that would allow an additional portion of the revenue to be used for marijuana education and a treatment program.

Since the state began collections in October of 2016, it has raked in around $7.4 million.
