Dry leaf marijuana was set to go on sale at many dispensaries in Pennsylvania this week.

Sixteen medical marijuana dispensaries in the state were expected to start selling dry leaf variety on Wednesday.

The dry leaf would have to be vaporized as Pennsylvania state law does not allow users to smoke it.

Prior to dry leaf now becoming an option for medicinal marijuana patients in Pennsylvania, the only other options had been marijuana in a pill form, or in the form of oil, gel, cream, and liquid.

Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine adopted changes recommended from an advisory panel which resulted in the new option being available.
