At midnight tonight, July 1st, the state of Nevada will become the fifth state to legalize recreational marijuana.

According to industry leaders, the price of the drug is now climbing and supply is dwindling.

Will Adler, who is the executive director of the Sierra Cannabis Coalition said that cultivators who grow cannabis are selling out and dispensaries are desperate for more of the drug.

“Everyone is stocking up to the point where cultivators are inflating prices. Everyone is trying to buy up everything they can,” Adler explained.

Wholesale marijuana is about to see a huge jump in tax from 2% to 15% so suppliers have been trying to stock up.

According to Jeff Grossman who manages Reno’s The Dispensary, “If there’s a line around my door all day every day, we might not last too long.”

According to John Aramini, the co-owner of High Sierra Holistics, they could sell out in two weeks.

“We’re getting close (to running out),” said Aramini. He said, “We have certain propietary strains, ones that we only grow here. The exclusive ones will cost more. We grow depending on what people like.”
