If attorney John Morgan gets his way, recreational marijuana will be on the ballot in 2020 in the state of Florida.

Morgan, a long time Democratic fundraiser, is also focused on getting a $15 minimum wage measure on the 2020 ballot.

According to Morgan, a referendum that legalizes recreational marijuana in the state “would pass overwhelmingly.” He added, “And I believe in light of President Trump’s position, America is ready and willing.”

Trump had said this month to reporters at the G-7 summit in Canada that he would in favor of a bipartisan bill that would end the blanket federal ban on marijuana.

The bill was put forward by U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner. Trump remarked, “I support Sen. Gardner,” Trump said. “I know exactly what he’s doing. We’re looking at it. But I probably will end up supporting that, yes.”

“The industry is huge, and I believe I would have no problem getting big money from big players,” Morgan also said.
