AURORA, CO (March 22, 2022) — Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg will deliver the keynote address on how hemp is helping to usher in a new age in agriculture at the 8th Annual NoCo Hemp Expo’s Farm Symposium and Ag Tech Forum on March 25, 2022, at the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center in Aurora.

Greenberg joins Colorado Governor Jared Polis, USDA Hemp Program Director William Richmond and other top business leaders, investors, agriculture experts and policy makers at NoCo Hemp Expo, which features a Business Conference, Investment Summit and Entrepreneur Pitch Slam on Thursday, March 25, and its annual Farm Symposium and the new Ag Tech Forum on Friday, March 25. The event also features a full Exhibit Hall.

Targeted for all members of the industrial hemp marketplace, from CBD to food, fiber, fashion, building materials, biocomposites and more, NoCo Hemp Expo, now in its eighth year, marks a comeback for the hemp industry, which has faced numerous challenges over the past few years, including regulatory uncertainty and economic fallout from the global pandemic.

Appointed in 2018 by Colorado Governor Jared Polis, Kate Greenberg is the state’s first female Commissioner of Agriculture. Since, she has led the Colorado Department of Agriculture and has overseen the state’s agricultural hemp initiatives and resources for growers and producers. Prior to serving as Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture, Greenberg was the Western Program Director for the National Young Farmers Coalition, where she established and grew the organization’s presence and membership across the West.

Resetting, Rebuilding and Revitalizing the Hemp Industry
“Commissioner Greenberg has helped steer Colorado’s hemp program to be a role model for the nation, bringing opportunity to our agriculture producers,” said Morris Beegle, President of We Are for Better Alternatives & Producer of NoCo Hemp Expo. “From soil to seed to harvesting and processing, our hemp farmers are the vital foundation to create a sustainable hemp supply chain. While it’s been a rocky road for producers these past few years, we are grateful for the resources and commitment provided by leaders such as Kate for the market to stabilize and grow in the future,” he said.

Beegle added, “This year’s NoCo Hemp Expo will be a reflection of where we are as a hemp industry today, the obstacles and opportunities we are currently facing, and the initiatives we as an industry are taking to reset, rebuild and revitalize such an important sustainable crop and marketplace.”

Ag Tech and Innovation
Panels, roundtables and speakers will discuss carbon credits, regenerative and organic farming, soil health, genetics for fiber, grain and cannabinoids, harvesting and processing innovations, new technologies and equipment, and updated rules and regulations and the USDA, FDA and more. A networking lunch is included.

Along with Greenberg, other hemp agriculture notables speaking will include:

  • Willam Richmond, USDA
  • Doug Fine, Author and Regenerative Hemp Farmer
  • Wendy Mosher, New West Genetics
