The Cannabis Community Care and Research Network of Somerville announced this week that it will be working with the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth to conduct a national survey on the use of marijuana.

The press release reads, “The survey is aimed to better understand consumer/patient demographics, attitudes, choices, methods of consumption and knowledge of cannabis products in legal cannabis states.”

The institutional review board of UMass-Dartmouth has approved the survey.

Findings will be published in a peer-reviewed journal and provided at conferences and forums, the press release also read.

It stated, “Information from the national anonymous cannabis survey will be used to improve the understanding of the consumer and patient population as the new legal adult-use markets open across the United States and in Massachusetts this summer.”

The survey will start in a few weeks and will last through 2020.
