According to Lauren Lewis, a recruiter with StaffBuffalo, a recruiting agency, companies are having to loosen their policies on drug testing as marijuana becomes legal.

Lewis stated, “We’ve seen that companies have to adapt with what happens with legislation within the country.”

“You can limit yourself from a lot of a lot of potential employees by not allowing it,” she added.

“Really a lot of companies are really walking a thin line. There is still a lot of gray area regarding marijuana use in the workplace and drug testing for it,” she also said.

White collar jobs seem more popular to exempt from the testing versus a blue collar worker who drives a bus.
