A few people from around Florida took to the front of the Historic Capital on Wednesday to show their support for marijuana legalization in the state.
The rally, dubbed, “I Am Not A Criminal Rally” are focused on putting an end to the prohibition of marijuana by raising awareness according to its organizers. The rally wants to show how laws against marijuana use impact families.
“When you ask anyone in Florida, especially the rural areas about opportunities, they will always tell you cannabis has always been and will always be the crop of opportunity, so we want to bring the need to grow in Florida,” said Mellisa Lozano of Normal Tallahassee.
Organizers of the event said they will continue to find ways to show lawmakers awareness and to create legislation that legalizes the use of marijuana in the state.
