The city of Fresno in California may not be considered the most pot friendly city in the U.S.

City Council Member Garry Bredefeld wants to ban dispensaries in the city.

According to Bredefeld, he thinks that places that sell the drug are bad for the city.
City Council President Clint Olivier has put off the decision to impose a ban on recreational marijuana dispensaries and because of this, has been accused of being the “king” of promoting drug use in the city.

Olivier reacted and said, “If I am going to be the king of anything, it’s of personal responsibility and human freedom because that’s what this is all about.”

Bredefeld commented, “If we take your premise, we should make everything legal, because we’ve lost the war. We talk about neighborhoods I’m worried about the quality of neighborhoods and where these dispensaries would go.”

Council Member Oliver Baines was also in favor of delaying the vote. He said, “We need more information, to make a decision. It’s the tail wagging the dog, we don’t really have enough information for a total recreational ban until we know what we are dealing with.”

A majority of the Council has voted four to three to impose a ban on places that sell marijuana for recreational users.
