Latvia, 1 MAY 2024 – Obelisk Farm, a pioneering institution in hemp education announces that
their project Hemp School has been chosen as one of the finalists for the European Training
Foundation Green Skills Award 2024.
Established at Obelisk Farm in 2018, the Hemp School distinguishes itself as the only project in
Europe that offers a diverse range of hemp educational initiatives covering hemp cultivation,
hemp building, hemp paper, hemp food, and hemp wool. The Hemp School aims to equip
individuals of all ages with the practical skills necessary to harness the full potential of hemp in a
manner that respects both the planet and its people. And, is now breaking new ground as being
the first hemp-focused project ever to reach this distinguished stage of the competition, marking
a significant milestone in the hemp industry.
The ETF Green Skills Award celebrates initiatives that showcase exceptional dedication to
developing and promoting green skills, crucial for advancing environmental sustainability and
addressing global challenges. The winner of the ETF Green Skills Award will be determined by

Obelisk Farm was founded in 2017, and is a family-owned hemp farm located in the eastern
part of Latvia, in the region of Latgale. The farm grows their own hemp and also produces their
