A new marijuana publication called Black Cannabis Magazine is targeting Black marijuana enthusiasts.

The quarterly publication will cover issues that are within the Black marijuana community and it’s first cover features actress and daytime TV host Whoopi Goldberg.

The magazine has an exclusive interview with Goldberg as she discusses her new cannabis lifestyle management brand dubbed Emma & Clyde by WHOOPFAM.

Goldberg derived the name from a tribute to her mother Emma and brother Clyde. Emma & Clyde products are designed to be top-tier edibles, pre-rolls, flower, and accessories for medical and recreational consumers.

“As a long-time cannabis advocate and entrepreneur, I’m happy to support the launch of a new publication focused on starting conversations and covering issues that educate, entertain, and inspire people of color in the cannabis community,” Goldberg said.

Black Cannabis Magazine also has a profile of Corvain Cooper, a Los Angeles man who had been facing life in prison for nonviolent marijuana crimes, as well as a review of Jay-Z’s Monogram cannabis brand, and tips on how to start a career in the marijuana industry.

“The legal cannabis industry so many of us enjoy and benefit from today is deeply rooted in Black culture, yet until now there’s been no prominent media source focused on supporting and celebrating the many contributions people of color are making to move the industry forward,” founder Hazey Taughtme said.

“To have true social equity in cannabis, you first need an equal share of voice. I founded Black Cannabis Magazine as a must-read cultural hub and content mecca highlighting Black excellence in cannabis.”

The magazine had an invitation-only red carpet launch event in Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 20th.
