According to a poll recently released by Gallup, 64%of Americans believe marijuana should be legalized. This the highest number the nation has ever seen since Gallup started their poll a few decades ago.

Another poll released by the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) has also revealed that more veterans are supporting the drug today.

According to the poll, the majority of Iraq and Afghanistan War veterans who responded to the poll agreed with the legalization of medical marijuana. How many?

63% of the participants.

These people said they support or strongly support ending the prohibition of cannabis for medical purposes.

While 22% didn’t even have an opinion on the issue, it was only 15 percent of veterans who oppose medical marijuana legalization.

Surprisingly, the numbers weren’t this high for recreational marijuana legislation. Only 44% support legalization.

Many veterans suffer from PTSD and depression after war and marijuana has been able to help many get relief.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) still refuses to acknowledge marijuana however as a treatment option.
