Hemp to Make a Strong Showing at EarthX, World’s Largest Earth Day Celebration

By Elizabeth Lunt

EarthX, taking place April 19-23 in Dallas, Texas, is the world’s largest green gathering and Earth Day event. It features a Congress of Conferences that highlights a wide range of environmental and sustainability-related topics and brings together environmental organizations, businesses, academic institutions, governmental agencies, speakers and subject matter experts. The multi-day celebration also features live music, art, food and a huge exposition of green related businesses.

This year’s event will feature an EarthX Hemp General Store, powered by NoCo Hemp Expo. The store will showcase a variety of hemp products for display and sale, including T-shirts, hats, guitars, hemp-printed pocket constitutions for politicians and attendees of all political stripes, and other assorted hemp merchandise and CBD products. The purpose is to inform and educate, as well as to make hemp products available to the general public.

WAFBA Announces a Pause for Southern Hemp Expo in Nashville

WAFBA — the umbrella organization that hosts and produces NoCo Hemp Expo, Southern Hemp Expo, Hawaii Hemp Conference, Winter Hemp Summit and other hemp-centric conferences, trade shows and events — is going to pause the 2023 Southern Hemp Expo. The Southern Hemp Expo, aka SHE, launched in 2018 in Nashville as the sister show to NoCo Hemp Expo, the most comprehensive hemp exposition and trade show on the planet.

SHE was a highly successful event in both 2018 and 2019 but was canceled in 2020 due to the Covid pandemic. SHE moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, in 2021 and back to Nashville in 2022. Both shows struggled to regain the momentum that the hemp industry had prior to the pandemic and both shows ended up being dominated by the rise in the intoxicating hemp-derived cannabinoid category, including Delta-8, HHC and other derivatives that have come to be popular with the consumer market in areas of the United States where adult-use cannabis is not yet legal.

Help Rebuild Ukraine With Hemp
Sergiy Kovalenkov, aka Doctor Hemphouse, one of the world’s renowned specialists in building with hemp, is appealing to the hemp industry for help in rebuilding war-torn Ukraine, including building Ukraine’s biggest social housing project to date — a 10,000-square-foot residential building to house refugees and orphans who lost their parents to the war. In particular, the project is seeking builders, sponsors, automated block-making machinery and a hempcrete spraying system.
