The Opposition of Steva Hemp, the company that according to the Ministry made “cannabis sheets” was accepted

By Alto Adige Innovazione

“We made it!” – Gordana Stevancevic is beaming when she tells us that the Ministry has given the green light to the registration of the trademark of her company Steva Hemp. As reported in an article at the beginning of last February, the young South Tyrolean entrepreneur was refused registration of her company by the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy because the name “Steva Hemp” would have been configured as “advertising propaganda”. of substances or preparations included in the tables of narcotic or psychotropic substances”. In short, an advertisement for marijuana, or cannabis – but it’s a shame that the company sells hotel sheets made of hemp fabric. Gordana Stevancevic had thus remained the victim of a surreal situation due to a confusion still widespread in the common imagination (and evidently at ministerial level), which associates an ancient plant with a thousand-year history such as hemp for industrial use with cannabis sativa or marijuana for recreational use.
