Oklahoma could be soon on its way to seeing legislation for medical marijuana happen in the state.
The residents of Oklahoma will go to the polls this summer to decide on a ballot measure, State Question 788, which will allow medical marijuana to be legal for some patients.
Under the ballot, anyone at least 18 years old would need to apply for a medical marijuana license with the Oklahoma State Department of Health after getting a note from their physician. If approved, the patient then would have to pay $100 for a license.
The patients will be allowed to possess up to 3 ounces of marijuana legally. They can also have six mature plants and six seedlings. They would also be taxed 7% for all marijuana sales.
