As Covid-19 eases, the Wisconsin Cannabis Expo has successfully made a return to downtown Milwaukee this past weekend.

The one-day event at the Wisconsin Center featured more than 90 vendors which included growers, dispensaries and testers.

“We are trying to educate and give people real information,” said Louis Fortis, editor and publisher of the Shepherd Express.

Guests, who had to be 18 and over to attend and 21 to get samples, had the chance to sample and purchase products that are legal in Wisconsin, like CBD oil and hemp.

People also had the opportunity to learn more about the cannabis industry through talks with industry professionals and medical experts.

Currently, medical and recreational pot are still illegal in Wisconsin.

Earlier this year there was a public hearing at the state Capitol on a Republican-backed measure to legalize medical marijuana. The earliest that the bill could go to a vote is next year.
