Many were anxiously awaiting for July to hit because that was when Canada was anticipated to legalize the sale of recreational marijuana.

Marijuana enthusiasts will have to wait a little longer, at least until early August.
The country’s Health Minister Ginette Petitpas Taylor conceded this week that legalization won’t be done in July.

According to Taylor, provincial and territorial governments need eight to 12 weeks following senate passage and royal assent to prepare for retail sales.

August could be the earliest Canadians see recreational marijuana legalized.
