Massachusetts state regulators are considering “secret shoppers” for marijuana.
The secret shopper would be an adult over the age of 21 and would pose as a customer to purchase marijuana products from retail marijuana shops to make sure the products are safe.
The Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission has proposed regulations which includes this “secret shopper program.”
The products could also be tested for accurate potency.
The first Massachusetts retail shops will be licensed by the commission and are expected to open later this year.
Massachusetts voters legalized marijuana for medical use in 2012 and for recreational use in 2016.
