Kalamazoo Michigan has welcomed a brand new medical marijuana dispensary into its neighborhoods.
The store, called Compassionate Care by Design, has opened on 401 N. Sage Street in Kalamazoo in the last wek of November. The grand opening was during the weekend of December 1st.
Jason Mischen, 32, is the general manager of the store while Kristen Bearup is the owner. Bearup also co-owns Kalamazoo Vapor Shop LLC.
According to Mischen, the business wants to help “kick the stigma” that is sometimes associated with marijuana. He remarked, “To let people know, hey this isn’t just a drug you’ll find on the streets, this actually is a very helpful medication. A lot of people benefit from it. A lot of people don’t know they can benefit from it.”
The store will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays.
