Many have argued that marijuana use could help stop the addictions that many people have to opioids. Dr. Oz, who’s real name is Mehmet Oz, is one of them.

The famous physician was on Fox News’s Fox & Friends on Tuesday morning and said, “The real story is the hypocrisy around medical marijuana. People think it’s a gateway drug to narcotics. It may be the exit drug to get us out of the narcotic epidemic.”

He further said, “We’re not allowed to study it because it’s a Schedule I drug, and I personally believe it could help.”

While Dr. Oz makes sense, host Steve Doocy’s reaction was, “Wow.”
