Ricky Williams, who is a former Miami Dolphins running back, is trying to get a piece of the lucrative marijuana industry.

The former NFL player has launched his own marijuana line called Real Wellness that includes six products which are sold as salves, vape cartridges and tonics that according to the company, contain “hemp-derived cannabidiol (CBD), tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or a mix of both.”

The products also have extracts that include lavender, tumeric, and arnica.

“I am known as a professional football player,” Williams said in a phone interview Monday with the Sun Sentinel. “In the last 14 years, I have been educating myself and training as a health care practitioner.”

“Surprisingly enough, our research found that the main demographic coming into the [cannabis] market are women ages 35 to 60,” Williams revealed. “Cannabis coming on the scene is a reemerging of herbalism back into our culture.”

To develop the products in his brand, Williams is working with a California medical marijuana dispensary and consulting firm called OutCo.

“Our larger plan in the future is to find manufacturing partners in other states,” Williams said.
