Actor Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, a screenwriter, have partnered up with Canadian marijuana company Canopy Growth Corp. to launch a marijuana brand called Houseplant.
Rogen and Goldberg are co-founders of the Toronto-based company.
Canopy has acquired 25 per cent of the company and has invested working capital. No further financial information was disclosed.
Rogen said they have been working on the company “quietly for years.”
“We could not be more passionate about this company and are dedicated to doing everything the right way,” he said in an emailed statement to the Canadian Express. “It is extremely important to us to treat cannabis with the reverence it deserves.”
Beginning in April, the dried flower version of its Houseplant Sativa strain will be on sale in British Columbia. Later there will be a hybrid and indica strain as well and softgels and pre-rolled joints.
