According to a new poll by Hill-HarrisX that was released this week, a very big number of Americans are now in support of legalizing marijuana.

The survey found that 84% of the respondents believe the drug should be legal.
The survey was conducted on April 12th and April 13th of registered voters.

According to the results, 42 percent of respondents said that weed should be legal for any use, and the same percentage said that it should be legal for medicinal purposes.

13 percent said that marijuana users and distributors should be prosecuted while 3 percent said that only distributors should be prosecuted.

Henry Olsen, a senior fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy, said Tuesday on “What America’s Thinking,” that “the younger you are, the more likely you are to favor it and it’s just a matter of time before public opinion finally works its way and marijuana use is generally legalized. In this case, the laws are well behind public opinion.”

46 percent of female voters favored legalizing marijuana for medicinal use while 37 percent said it should be available for any purpose. 47% of men said pot should be legal for any use while 37 percent supported it only for medical treatments.
